Sweet Pea

Hey Guys! As many of you may  have noticed, my last post was over a month ago, sorry! I have no camera (This shall soon be resolved), and my internet has been up and down lately. But when one of my reader told me how much they missed my posts, I was able to rally up the amazing Trina Nguyen to capture my essence. Hopefully, we can let bygones be bygones! I promise to try to bring you more posts.

With triple digit heat and no car , me and my friends have to resorted to days spent playing minecraft, going on ChatRoulette, jamming out to the radio, swimming, and frolocking in others people's yards and around the neighborhood . Ah, a glimpse of the good old days. I have to admit, I really thought that I would be doing more during this summer. Adventure, vacaton to an exotic location, a job, SOMETHING! But, nothing has reached my neck of the woods just yet.

When walking home, I couldn’t help but stop and admire the beautiful flowers  in someones yard. And BAM! Instant backdrop for a photo shoot.  I really hope they didn't mind. I seriously tried not to pick to many flowers. I would have picked more, if it werent for some serious scolding from Trina.

Chillaxed

Hey Guys, I am going to apologize in advance. SO, many people came up to me this week and asked why I hadn't been updating my blog. The answer is a combination of things.  Besides going to NFL Districts for Speech and Debate , tons of homework , projects, I have been a very busy bee this past week. Also, the inevitable death of my camera also held me back a little.

Its Spring as we all know. Happy. Cheery. HOT and HUMID. Of course on a day like this I would usually wear one of my regular flowly frocks like I have been all week, but today was more of a “chill ” jeans and tank day. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t dress it up with color and the timeless addition of sequins. I chilled out today by wearing a simple pair of straight leg jeans , but of course being the fashion fairy that I am, I dressed it up a bit :). I added a multi-toned purple tank top and my oh-so-timeless sequined TOMS. A few black essential were added to spice things up. Such as , my favorite flats besides my penny loafers and my ruffled cardigan with he strategically placed hole.

If you look closely to my ..."pectoral" area, you can see the one tiny ironically-placed hole in my sweater. Some say that I should sew it or throw it out. But i'm not fussing over something so little and funny. And I always thought that it added.... character to the piece. Showing our long and holey relation together.

 For any of you who were in the Spanish center while I was doing some of my unique and quite awkward poses, I am sorry for the disturbance. But, someone had to have fun in that room, I hope that you enjoyed the show.

Fridays, Yellow and Lots of Pennies!

   Hey Guys, do you what day it is? The most wonderful, exciting and waited for day. NO , not Christmas! I’s Friday! Now that the week is over and spring has started, it is time to sleep in, stay up late and procrastinate.

 Today was quite interesting and allowed for me to have a bit of fun. Se all those pennies to the left? Those are for my good friend the lunch man. After being rude and impatient I thought that I would give him something that would take PLENTY of time. So, I paid for lunch in ALL PENNIES. Exactly 150 of them. Of course, he was in shock when I handed them to him, but he simply dumped them into the money tray without even counting! Hmm, maybe next time I’ll only pay half! It’s not like he going to count!

 Also, today was the finale of Cancer Awareness Week. All week we people all over the globe having been showing that support and colors for cancer. Monday was purple, Tuesday was orange, Wednesday was blue, Thursday was pink, and Friday was yellow. Yellow represents early childhood cancer affecting millions of children each year. With the glow of Friday of their faces , and the bright pop of color they are clothed in, hundreds of smiling faces bounced up and down the hallways.

The Land of Leather

First off, let me start out by Introducing our four guest models who “willingly” let me dress them up: Stacey “Jack” McQueen, Destiny Jackson, Douglas Tran, and Miss Van. And if everything goes perfectly, they will be joining us again for another amazing showcase. Nothing would have been possible without them. 

Welcome to the wonderful world of LEATHER. Leather is one of the most versatile and commonly used materials besides the basic cotton. It is found on shoes, furniture, inside cars, and in fashion. I apologize to all of you who are vegetarian/vegan who do not condone leather being worn, but Stacey is wearing an animal-free vegan suede vest. I have no idea how I thought of or came across those amazing pieces, but I knew when I saw them that they had to be seen. Rain, Fog, Sleet, or Snow LEATHER is the way to go.

Douglas is wearing a pair of sleek leather pants that bring out his inner cool cat. At first he refused, but he soon warmed up to them, literally. Those pants are HOT!

 Destiny is wearing a long leather skirt, which has been fitted to her as a dress. She is the shy and bashful young creature that is just coming to terms with her edgy side.

Stacey “Jack” McQueen is wearing her own version of a VEGAN Suede vest which features many zippers and secret pockets. If you can’t tell by looking at her, she is not to be messed with.

Finally, Ms. Van is wearing a sleeveless leather top. She is too cool for school and she will prove it to anyone who gets in her way. Unfortunately, Ms. Van an aspiring teacher will be leaving us shortly to go off and study with the paste-eaters and the bed-wetters. But either way, we will Miss You Ms. Van! 

Make A Statement!

Making a statement is one of the MOST important aspects of fashion. Seen all over the runways this year, statement pieces are definitely a trend. Nothing can be too simple, plain, or predictable. Everything has to have some pop and element of surprise. Today’s post is all about Statement Pieces. Everyone should have a couple of go-to statement pieces, such a pair of FUNKY (not smelly) shoes, or a bold necklace.

A statement piece should be worn with neutral colors, so that it is the MAIN focus of the outfit. They can say a little or a lot depending on how you them, but I can guarantee that they will be seen.

The sequined vest is still in the same color family
as the rest of the outfit, but adds an unexpected
twist and sparkle which adds interest to the outfit.

Madly Mod

Hey Guys! Today's "Terrific Tuesday" was actually pretty great. Anyways, today I thought that I would switch things up. SO, Welcome to the Wonderful World of MOD! Innovative, Creative, Bold and Brash.  Mod sixties fashion ushered in an attitude of "anything goes" .People wore bright colors, clashing prints and anything that they could find . I went for the more modern and conservative mod, almost like a 1960's librarian.  You can do Mod anywhere at anytime, basically just wear two things that would probably never go together and put your own classic twist on it. Ex: necklaces, ribbons/bows , or a pair of funk shoes. But, if you are going for a more  refined mod look you can leave out any crazy hats, or shoes just like I did.

 A lot of the clothes that people wear now were somewhat influenced by Mod. Mod is almost like a give and take style. If you are wearing a high neckline, go for something sleeveless, or with a shorter length. And the exact opposite is true for deep cut dress, which usually are longer and have sleeves.

 ANYONE can do MOD.Even by simple wearing the first things that you pull from your closet. SO, in the future Don't forget To Do Mod.
