Sweet Pea

Hey Guys! As many of you may  have noticed, my last post was over a month ago, sorry! I have no camera (This shall soon be resolved), and my internet has been up and down lately. But when one of my reader told me how much they missed my posts, I was able to rally up the amazing Trina Nguyen to capture my essence. Hopefully, we can let bygones be bygones! I promise to try to bring you more posts.

With triple digit heat and no car , me and my friends have to resorted to days spent playing minecraft, going on ChatRoulette, jamming out to the radio, swimming, and frolocking in others people's yards and around the neighborhood . Ah, a glimpse of the good old days. I have to admit, I really thought that I would be doing more during this summer. Adventure, vacaton to an exotic location, a job, SOMETHING! But, nothing has reached my neck of the woods just yet.

When walking home, I couldn’t help but stop and admire the beautiful flowers  in someones yard. And BAM! Instant backdrop for a photo shoot.  I really hope they didn't mind. I seriously tried not to pick to many flowers. I would have picked more, if it werent for some serious scolding from Trina.

Black Lightning

Last week, the school's finest took of their day clothes and put of their secret identity. As a part of class war's last week, every single day had a different theme.Tuesday was Superhero day, and i took it to the max. Introducing to you, Black Lightning.

To create Black Lighting I wanted to go out of the box. So, instead of wearing a regular mask and having hathead, I decided to open up my makeup kit and go to work. Using basic eyeliner, eye shadow and lots of glitter, my reinvented  Incredibles mask came to life. My powers include the ability to control lightning, and shoot mini lightning bolts out of every speck of glitter or sequin on my body.

Don't forget glitter on the lips!

The outfit was completely different story. I had to be VERY creative. I knew i wanted my base colors to be black white and silver, so I pulled out everything in my closet with those colors. IN the end I ended up using a sequined leotard, black and white striped leggings, a black v-neck, black and white sequined converse and a black Pashmina scarf to keep things "PG-13".

Although no one believed me, Black Lightning is a real superhero form DC Comics. He is Black, like moi and he can pull of a spandex bodysuit! (Which is harder than it seems) His powers are shooting lightning bolts outside of his hands, and the uncanny ability to beat up bad guys.

Up Up and Away! No Need to Fear, Black Lightning is Here! I am flying to new heights , and i'd like for you to join me.

Peachey and Speechy

As some of you may know, I am an active member in NFL (National Forensics League! NOT FOOTBALL) and speech and debate. Basically, about once or twice a month my team an I go to citywide tournaments and compete with people from other schools.

I am very fond of poetry. It is one of the only events that can display a whole range of emotions, but does not have to be memorized.  I'm a novice, but I think that I can still give pretty convincing performance. My very first set of poems for this year was , "Last Night I Saw My Life Onstage" and "One Time  The Fat Girl Danced". Both are about women gaining confidence in themselves from other people. I can bust some serious moves and I am an okay singer, but my favorite poem of the year was " I LOVE CAKE".  The fact that the poem fit me perfectly, and I love to scream " I LOVE CAKE!" at the top of my lungs made this my favorite poem yet.

but every so often I get to sub in for debate. Even though I pretty much have no idea what I am doing, I go in , strut my stuff and argue about how i am right and everyone else is wrong. This is why i don't have a very big winning streak :). Sometimes, I get a little out of hand and I tend to yell and spit like some sort of rabid dog.

I want to thank the wonderful JunYun Tan for capturing my essence in these amazing pictures.

Giddy-Up

(Read to the beat of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song.)
Now this is a story all about how

My life started way outside  town
And I’d like to take a minute just sit right there
And tell you how I became the queen of a street named Bellaire.

In East Texas born and raised

On the pasture where I spent most of my days.
Chilling out, galloping, relaxing all cool And all shooting some pigeons outside of the school
When a couple of horses, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I rode one little horse and my grandma got scared She said "you're moving with your mom to a house near Bellaire."

I whistled for a cow and when it came near its brand said "Fresh" and it had a dice on the horns

If anything I could say that this cow was rare But I thought nah forget it, “Yo homes to Bellaire!”

I pulled up to a house about seven or eight

And I yelled to the cow "Yo, homie smell you later"
Looked at my home I was finally there to sit on my couch as the queen of Bellaire.

Down Home in the Country is where I like to spend my days :)

This weekend for my great-grandfather's 89th birthday. Most of my family and I headed down to our family ranch to celebrate. Surrounded by cows, horses, and family is exactly how Papa wanted to spend his day. I also had fun, but the added benefit of a few Zyrtec or Claritin could have helped.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Feeling Frilly with Frappe's

TGIF! I don't know if i can spend another hour looking at books, therefore I have a mental breakdown. As we all know, today is Friday the most anticipate day of the week. And I think that I speak for all when I say " Tanks God It's Friday". Although my only time going to TGIFriday's was on a trip to Disneyland, I might consider going again.

For me, off time is all about three things. Hanging out with my buds, catching up on well deserved sleep and doing my homework ahead of schedule. Today was a hanging type of day. I had plans with some other friends to go and procrastinate at Starbucks, as we try to "research for a project" but unfortunately that plan was canceled. However, when my friends wonderful mother offered, i couldn't resist.

We flaunted into Starbucks and ordered the most frivolous drinks, that had the MOST caffeine. A light green tea frappuccino for me and upside down caramel coffee's for the other two. Instead of hitting and running, we spent a good 2 hours or so talking, gossiping, and sipping on our syrupy drinks.

While we were there, we also managed to snap a few pictures. Even though we received a couple of odd stares, we had fun and owned the place.

Chillaxed

Hey Guys, I am going to apologize in advance. SO, many people came up to me this week and asked why I hadn't been updating my blog. The answer is a combination of things.  Besides going to NFL Districts for Speech and Debate , tons of homework , projects, I have been a very busy bee this past week. Also, the inevitable death of my camera also held me back a little.

Its Spring as we all know. Happy. Cheery. HOT and HUMID. Of course on a day like this I would usually wear one of my regular flowly frocks like I have been all week, but today was more of a “chill ” jeans and tank day. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t dress it up with color and the timeless addition of sequins. I chilled out today by wearing a simple pair of straight leg jeans , but of course being the fashion fairy that I am, I dressed it up a bit :). I added a multi-toned purple tank top and my oh-so-timeless sequined TOMS. A few black essential were added to spice things up. Such as , my favorite flats besides my penny loafers and my ruffled cardigan with he strategically placed hole.

If you look closely to my ..."pectoral" area, you can see the one tiny ironically-placed hole in my sweater. Some say that I should sew it or throw it out. But i'm not fussing over something so little and funny. And I always thought that it added.... character to the piece. Showing our long and holey relation together.

For any of you who were in the Spanish center while I was doing some of my unique and quite awkward poses, I am sorry for the disturbance. But, someone had to have fun in that room, I hope that you enjoyed the show.

Here is a video of my VERY improvised performance at NFL Districts.
